Comunicado a la opinión pública
Ante la reciente decisión e información de la firma de un decreto que beneficiaría a las comunidades indígenas del Cauca por parte del Presidente Juan Manuel Santos, en su visita realizada el día de hoy viernes 20 de octubre del presente año en la Ciudad de Popayán.
La Consejería Mayor y las autoridades indígenas organizadas en el Consejo Regional Indígena del Cauca -CRIC-; RECHAZAMOS TAL DECISIÓN, puesto que no corresponde al texto concertado con las comunidades indígenas ni responde de ninguna manera a las exigencias que se vienen dando a raíz del incumplimiento del Estado. En tal propósito damos a conocer a la opinión pública que continuamos en pie de movilización tal cual lo mandataron los 125 cabildos en Junta Directiva Regional.

CRIC reject the modification and signature of the Decree 982 of 1999
Public announcement
On his most recent visit to Popayan on the 20th of October this year, President Juan Manuel Santos informed of the decision and following signature of a Presidential Decree that will benefit the indigenous communities of Cauca.
The Ministry of the CRIC (Consejería Mayor) and the indigenous authorities organised in the Regional Indigenous Council of Cauca (Consejo Regional Indígena del Cauca – CRIC) reject this decision given that it does not correspond to the original text written in conjunction with indigenous communities. Neither does it correspond with the demands we have due to the continuing nonfulfillment of the government.
In this purpose, we announce to the public that we will continue to mobilize as mandated by the 125 councils of the Regional Board of Directors.
